It's 9:00 a.m., Monday and I'm being educated on RSS Readers. I'm also having trouble with my AT&T internet connection AND my daughter who only has six weeks left to give birth to my 2nd grandson is having blood pressure issues! This is definitely a Monday.

But I digress, I decided to put my own thoughts before I truly find out what an RSS Reader actually is.

My thoughts? Okay, well, I am legally blind and have this really cool "reader" for my emails and pretty much everything I need to read online. I chose the voice of a man because most computer readers irritate me. This one is okay, but he too gets annoying at times. For instance, when I'm watching a movie online, he'll randomly read texts out loud to me. So I'm guessing that this isn't the same thing as an RSS reader.

I am correct, apparently an RSS reader is a place to go that brings up to date (by the minute), information on anything you could possibly want!

I signed into Netvibes. It was easy enough to register and has a cool display, sort of like my 8.1 windows. Talk about information overload! I found articles on everything from a man who printed out fingers for amputees to everything that is currently going on in the world! Then I click on the audio for the nightly news. Problem? I can't get it to turn off!! UGH. I finally found the "pause" button and was relieved of the "noise". I've been missing out on so much, but do I really want to know all of this? I intentionally don't watch the news on television because I don't like scary movies! Again, I digress.

It is going to take me awhile to learn how to navigate the RSS feeds and to add more. Being a grad student for educational technology, I'm going to have to just open up my mind and decide that this is all important, I guess. Maybe I can find educational information through an RSS feed.

I'll keep you informed.
